GMVA Website Terms and Conditions for Users

General  

The domain www.gmva.net belongs to the Committee of the Greenwich Millennium Village Association (GMVA).

The site hosted at www.gmva.net is owned by GMVA and managed by the Committee on behalf of the members.   

The Committee may establish a sub committee to be responsible for the administration and overall content of the site.  

The usernames of the Administrators and Moderators will be published on the site and are available to all members of GMVA.  

Membership  

Membership of the site is open to all residents and owners of GMV and guests invited by the Committee.  

Members may only have a single registration and one username on the site.  The only exceptions are Administrators, the Chair, Vice-chair, Secretary and Treasurer who in addition to their personal username will be allocated a second username to be used when officially acting in that role.  

When registering you will be required to provide the following information 

             •  Name  

             •  Email address  

             •  Address  

             •  Postcode  

             •  Username  

             •  Password 

The only required information that can be seen on your public profile will be  your Username.  

After registration you can complete your profile and upload an avatar should you wish. All optional information you provide will be visible on your public profile.  

Only Administrators of the site will have access to your complete profile information.  

Your password is confidential to you and no other person has access to your password. If you forget your password you will have to request a temporary one which the site will generate for you. You should change this as soon as possible.  

Your membership of the site is personal and you should not allow others to use your login details.  

You are required to keep your personal details on the site up to date 

If you do not login at least once in any 6 month period your membership may lapse and you will have to re-register.   

You will notify the administrators if you are no longer a member of GMVA.  

You will be asked to agree to the Terms and Conditions of this site when you register. In accessing any page of any web-site operated by or on behalf of GMVA you are deemed to have read, understood and agreed to be legally bound by the conditions of use set out in this document each time you access the web-site.   

Conditions of use 

You agree not to use the website to send or post any message or material that is unlawful, harassing, defamatory, abusive, indecent, threatening, harmful, vulgar, obscene, sexually orientated, racially offensive, profane, pornographic or violates any applicable law and you hereby indemnify the Website Owner against any loss, liability, damage or expense of whatever nature which the Website Owner or any third party may suffer which is caused by or attributable to, whether directly or indirectly, your use of the website to send or post any such message or material. 

GMVA is not responsible for any material submitted to the public areas by you (which include bulletin boards, hosted pages, chat rooms, or any other public area found on the website. Any material (whether submitted by you or any other user) is not endorsed, reviewed or approved by GMVA. The Administrators or Moderators reserve the right to remove any material submitted or posted by you in the public areas, without notice to you, if it becomes aware and determines, in its sole and absolute discretion that you are or there is the likelihood that you may, including but not limited to -

·     defame, abuse, harass, stalk, threaten or otherwise violate the rights of other users or any third parties;

·     publish, post, distribute or disseminate any defamatory, obscene, indecent or unlawful material or information;

·      post or upload files that contain viruses, corrupted files or any other similar software or programmes that may damage 
       the operation of the Website Owner's and/or a third party's computer system and/or network;

·      violate any copyright, trade mark, other applicable Great Britain or international laws or intellectual property rights of the    
       Website Owner or any other third party;

 ·     submit contents containing marketing or promotional material which is intended to solicit business.

You are prohibited from accessing, printing any or all parts of the web-site for any commercial purpose.  

As a user you agree to any information you have entered on the site being stored in a database. While this information will not be disclosed to any third party without your consent the Administrators and Moderators cannot be held responsible for any hacking attempt that may lead to the data being compromised.  

This system uses cookies to store information on your local computer. These cookies do not contain any of the information you have entered; they serve only to improve your viewing pleasure.  

The e-mail address you provide is used for confirming your registration details and password (and for sending new passwords should you forget your current one). GMVA may also use your email to communicate with you. It will not be sold or shared with any third party without your consent. 

Disclaimer of Liability

The Website Owner shall not be responsible for and disclaims all liability for any loss, liability, damage (whether direct, indirect or consequential), personal injury or expense of any nature whatsoever which may be suffered by you or any third party (including your company), as a result of or which may be attributable, directly or indirectly, to your access and use of the website, any information contained on the website, your or others personal information or material and information transmitted over our system. In particular, neither GMVA nor any third party or data or content provider shall be liable in any way to you or to any other person, firm or corporation whatsoever for any loss, liability, damage (whether direct or consequential), personal injury or expense of any nature whatsoever arising from any delays, inaccuracies, errors in, or omission of any information or the transmission thereof, or for any actions taken in reliance thereon or occasioned thereby or by reason of non- performance or interruption, or termination thereof.

Entire Agreement

These website terms and conditions constitute the sole record of the agreement between you and the Website Owner in relation to your use of the website. Neither you nor the Website Owner shall be bound by any express tacit or implied representation, warranty, promise or the like not recorded herein. Unless otherwise specifically stated these website terms and conditions supersede and replace all prior commitments, undertakings or representations, whether written or oral, between you and the Website Owner in respect of your use of the website.

Alteration

The Website Owner may at any time modify any relevant terms and conditions, policies or notices. You acknowledge that by visiting the website from time to time, you shall become bound to the current version of the relevant terms and conditions (the "current version") and, unless stated in the current version, all previous versions shall be superseded by the current version. You shall be responsible for reviewing the then current version each time you visit the website.

These Terms and Conditions will be read and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales and the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction in respect of any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms and Conditions.
